The evidence of association in polymyositis and der-matomyositis with lymphoproliferative malignancies is unclear. There is not one cohort study that demonstrates such relationship. However, the opposite is true of solid tumors. Dermatomyositis appears more strongly associated than polymyositis with malignant tumors (other than lymphoproliferative) [32, 33] with SIR between 2.4 and 8.3. Maoz et al.
