Mature T And Nkcell Lymphomas

Clinical syndromes rather than cytomorphological features form the principal basis for the identification of real diseases within this difficult group. Several provisional disorders listed in the REAL classification are now recognized as defined entities but, despite many attempts to recognize distinct diseases, most T-cell lymphomas end up being classified as "T-cell lymphoma unspecified." This is clearly unsatisfactory and is partly due to the rarity of T-cell lymphomas as a whole. It is to be hoped that the adoption of the new principles of classification will, as new data accumulate perhaps with the aid of gene profiling, lead to the rationalization of this group.
