Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation

The prognostic value of stem-cell transplantation in larger series of patients with primary CBCL has not been evaluated. Responses to high-dose therapy (HDT) followed by autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) have been reported to be effective in CBCL.21 A series of 14 patients with cutaneous lymphomas treated with HDT/ASCT included three patients with disseminated and relapsed FCCL/DLBL. Eight patients, seven with CTCL, relapsed. Six of these patients relapsed within 4 months. No relapse occurred in patients with FCCL/DLBL, with a disease-free follow-up time of 15 months, 36 months, and 5 years, respectively.
