The phosphorescence quantum yield, although directly proportional to the phosphorescence lifetime, is also a function of the triplet quantum yield; increases in Qp often occur concomitantly with decreases in -p because any increase in intersystem crossing rate will affect both kisc (to increase QT) and kp (to decrease -p).
