Neurofibromatosis

Characteristic features include more than 5 cafe-au-lait spots and axillary freckling, both shown above. Later findings include neurofibromas and Lish nodules (not shown).

Tuberous Sclerosis

Findings in young children include adenoma sebaceum as shown here (angiofibromas surrounding sweat glands). Older children may have oval, depigmented ash-leaf spots (not shown).
